The LoadSpring Solutions Management Team

Our core management team is a tight-knit group of senior technology professionals. In addition to engineering, technology and management training, each of us has worked in senior management positions—in such areas as operations, applications support, customer service, business development and information technology. This executive experience across a wide array of industries and functions provides uncommon perspective. Clients often comment on our ability not only to grasp their overarching business and competitive situations but also to leverage their IT investment so as to maximize ROI.

D. Eric Leighton, President & CEO

Prior to founding LoadSpring, Mr. Leighton had more than 15 years of technical and management experience in computer technology. He was Director of Operations at New Technology Solutions, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of all hardware products and management of key infrastructure partnerships. As Special Accounts Manager for Parametric Technology Corporation, Mr. Leighton managed a team of highly skilled software specialists who provided proactive, rapid response to top-25 global customers. Mr. Leighton holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine.

Jim Smith, Executive Vice President

A LoadSpring Solutions founder, Mr. Smith has 12 years of technical and management experience developing and delivering technology solutions that meet specialized customer needs. He formerly was Director of Technical Services at New Technology Solutions, where he managed a team of implementation specialists providing data management, mechanical design and systems integration services to U.S. customers. Mr. Smith also was a Functional Leader at Parametric Technology Corporation, where he helped remote design teams take advantage of the advanced surface modules in industry-leading Pro/ENGINEER mechanical design software. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Tony Maciel, Senior System Administrator

Mr. Maciel helped cofound LoadSpring in 1999 and has more than 10 years of high-tech consulting, training and technical-support experience. He formerly was Manager of Technical Services at New Technology Solutions, where he helped the company build a consulting and training group focused on Pro/ENGINEER, a 3D design software package, and Pro/INTRALINK, an Oracle database. He also was Technical Support Liaison for high-visibility customers at Parametric Technology Corporation. Mr. Maciel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Mike Kennedy, Vice President–Technical Operations

Mr. Kennedy brings nearly a decade of technical and management experience in computer and network security to LoadSpring. He formerly was Systems Administration Project Leader for SunGard BSR, where he managed a team dedicated to network security, server implementation and availability, and help-desk operations. He also was Senior Technical Lead for all SunGard BSR security platforms as well as critical applications such as Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange. Mr. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College.
