Black & Veatch’s challenge was to web-enable its materials management application,
providing secure delivery of inventory-based reports to all project members in
real-time across the Internet. Complicating the issue was the need to share a single
centralized instance of the program with dispersed team members. Black & Veatch
administrators needed to minimize tasks associated with maintaining the database
and application, knowing that a larger and more diverse user community would
introduce additional overhead. As a final requirement, Black & Veatch wanted a
partner to provide and support the IT infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.

For Black & Veatch, LoadSpring delivers a solution that securely connects team
members across the U.S. The CAM Console™ was reviewed by the security group
and was authorized as the on-line collaboration and access tool to share PICS™
(Project Inventory Control System).
Centrally locating data and applications at LoadSpring allowed the entire team to
standardize on PICS and access information from corporate offices as well as field
locations. Additionally, because the CAM Console is delivered as a combination
product and service, there was no requirement for IT to specify, procure, implement
and support additional servers, software and infrastructure.
